Black Parents Explain the Police

“The Talk” is an undeniable reality for black families in the US. These brave and generous Black American families shared this intimate family moment on camera with us in hopes that it would help educate and enlighten those whose privileges had shielded them from knowing such realities even existed.

This video was made in early 2017, and was widely shared at the time, but found new life in 2020 after the death of George Floyd. The video was shared by many celebrities and referenced by countless news sources around the globe.
